Thomas G. Valore, Ph.D.
Staff Development & Training Director
As Positive Education Program’s (PEP) Staff Development & Training Director, Thomas G. Valore, Ph.D. is responsible for the creation and implementation of the agency’s professional development programming and training for both internal and external audiences. He oversees PEP Assist, PEP’s consultation and training arm that provides schools and programs with best practices for working with at-risk and special needs children.
Dr. Valore’s tenure with PEP spans 30 plus years and includes a variety of positions ranging from classroom teacher to case manager, school psychologist, program coordinator, and program director. He holds a master’s degree in school psychology and a doctoral degree in special education, both from Kent State University. His education and experience in the field qualify him as a valued expert in the area of child development and special education.
Dr. Valore is a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Kent State University and Ashland University, as well as an instructor at Cleveland State University and Cuyahoga Community College. He is a Doctoral Committee Member for several doctoral candidates and a Master Trainer with the Life Space Crisis Intervention Institute. Dr. Valore is a Senior Facilitator for the Institute for Healing Racism and a former Discipline with Dignity trainer for Discipline Associates.
A recognized expert in his field, Dr. Valore has authored several articles and has contributed chapters to numerous books and research publications. He has provided keynote addresses and presentations at numerous professional conferences, and has been involved in training and consultation with schools, agencies, and alternative programs throughout the United States.
Dr. Valore is a member of the American Re-Education Association, the Cleveland Area School Psychologists Association, and the Council for Exceptional Children.
