Summer Institute

PEP’s Summer Institute is designed to develop skills and competencies that will supplement certification and in-service training for teachers, para-professionals, and support staff.

This training provides for each participant to create a “Product Manual” that will include the following materials:

  • Program Development Procedures
  • Functional Behavior Assessment Model
  • Behavior Intervention Plan Model
  • Social Skill Instruction Formats
  • Sample materials include: schedules; the “3 R’s”; group meeting formats, group management formats; and academic accommodations.

Training Design: The Summer Institute is a five-day training experience. Morning sessions are devoted to topics essential to designing effective, evidence-based programs. Afternoon breakout sessions provide in–depth coverage of topics that individual participants deem necessary to accomplishing future professional development goals. Each year, the exact dates for this training differ, but traditionally it is during the third week in June.

Credits and Costs: CEU’s in counseling, social work or psychology or school psychology are available through PEP. Graduate credits are available for an additional cost.
