Staffing

Because of the ECC's heavy emphasis on parent training and support, the program is supported by both Parent Staff and Professional Staff. Parent staff function as either Classroom Coaches or Session Coaches (conducting each family's daily parent/ child individual training session). Professional staff includes: Center Coordinator (in a school, this is parallel to the school principal), Clinical Supervisor (in a school, this professional would be known as the school psychologist), Clinical Associate, and Resource Consultants/Case Managers (who serve as the liaison to the school and the family). Consultative services are available from a Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and a Nurse. Psychiatric services are also available.

Staff to child ratio is approximately 1:2.

Having the trained parents on staff to work with other families is a major component of the program. They are able to say, “Yes, I was in your position at one time. Things did get better. This is what I did. This is what you can do.”
