PEP Assist

PEP Assist is a consulting and training service provided to schools and programs designed to teach best practices for working with at-risk children. Services are individually tailored to meet the unique needs of each district. Working in partnership with public schools, PEP staff develops innovative programs and staff development opportunities so that children with severe and challenging behaviors may be served successfully in their school of residence.

Services Offered

  • Individualized Student Consultation - PEP Assist will observe a student and provide a functional behavior assessment. This assessment is translated into recommendations and incorporated into a behavior intervention plan that includes how positive behavior supports can be developed to maintain the child in the least restrictive environment possible. To support plan implementation, PEP Assist staff are available to work directly with the teacher and the parents.
  • Program Development - PEP Assist staff will collaborate with district personnel to design and implement model services provided in the district to children with behavioral needs. From inclusion strategies to specific methodology, staff can support developing programs across the spectrum of needs.
  • Workshops, Trainings and Conferences - PEP Assist consultants and trainers with wide-ranging expertise in working with troubled students are available to design workshops and on-site trainings to suit the specific needs of each environment. Annually, PEP Assist hosts the week-long PEP Summer Institute devoted to topics essential to designing effective, evidence-based programs for students experiencing serious emotional and behavioral challenges.

Hours: Office Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Trainings and other services can be provided outside of normal business hours.

Payment: A contract for services is arranged between PEP and the school district or agency. Invoices are sent by the Educational Service Center.
