Tapestry
Cuyahoga County recently was awarded a multi-million dollar federal
grant to develop a more efficient and family-friendly system to
provide supports to children who are seriously emotionally disturbed
and their families. This system of care, named Tapestry, is built
on the successful work of PEP Connections and Family-to-Family,
a large Cuyahoga County foster care initiative, which was funded
by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Tapestry is designed to bring
more support to more families, thus reducing their reliance on
the county’s public systems. Among Tapestry’s primary
goals are: an increased voice from the parents and other caregivers
who support these children; and an emphasis on supports and services
provided in the neighborhood where the children and their families
reside. PEP is the first agency to pilot the Tapestry System of
Care.
Services are based out of neighborhood sites throughout Cleveland,
East Cleveland and Euclid.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30
p.m. Tapestry staff can be accessed on a 24-hour per day basis
to deal with crisis and emergency situations.
Age Range: Birth-22. Referrals are accepted for
children birth -17 years of age.
Payment: Tapestry services are presently funded
through SAMSHA, Medicaid and the allocated County match for this
new initiative.
