Dennis Koenig
Chief Clinical Officer

Koenig Dennis Koenig is the Chief Clinical Officer for Positive Education Program (PEP). In this role, Mr. Koenig oversees referral and enrollment in the agency’s programs and provides clinical oversight and supervision of the social, emotional, and behavioral programming at PEP. He provides mental health consultation and crisis intervention and interfaces with school districts and community agencies.

For over fifteen years, Mr. Koenig has been an integral part of PEP’s Clinical Services department, serving as a Day Treatment Center clinical supervisor, as well as the clinical services coordinator. During his tenure, Mr. Koenig helped develop and implement PEP’s Midtown Center for Youth in Transition, a school-based program serving transitional youth 16 to 22 years of age.

Mr. Koenig holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in school psychology from the University of Akron. Prior to his work at PEP, Mr. Koenig worked as a school psychologist with the Akron Public Schools and in private practice.

He is a Certified Life Space Crisis Intervention Senior Trainer, as well as a Certified Trauma and Loss School Specialist. Mr. Koenig maintains various local, state, and national professional affiliations. He has presented both locally and nationally, and has authored or co-authored articles for professional publication.
