Early Childhood Services

Positive Education Program offers a continuum of early childhood programs and support services to young children and their families. In its early childhood programming, PEP builds upon the strengths of both the child and the family to create opportunities for growth and success. Through all early childhood programming, PEP is able to serve young children with a diagnosis along the autism spectrum.

  • Through its Early Childhood Centers (ECCs), PEP provides short-term educational and therapeutic services to families and children from birth through kindergarten experiencing serious behavioral challenges.
    • PEP Early Childhood Special Education Center-Based Services (Preschool and Kindergarten) are provided to children preschool and kindergarten-age with serious behavioral challenges. Children are placed in classrooms where they participate in readiness activities, and families are taught skills necessary to help their young child succeed.
    • PEP Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Services are designed for families with children birth to age 3 who are experiencing, or at risk of, serious social-emotional or behavioral challenges. The program combines center-based activities with home and community visits to ensure the family is receiving the supports necessary to promote positive growth and development in the child.
  • Day Care Plus provides consultation services and technical assistance to child care providers, and support for families with children experiencing difficulties in the child care setting.
